Many dogs never get to see the light at the end of the tunnel because their saviors arrive too late. Due to strict shelter policies, countless canines face their end before they even get a chance to experience the outside world.
Stormi was among them, just moments away from being euthanized.
Her rescuers had until 2 p.m. to save her, and they were determined to do everything they could to get her out. But time was running out fast…

A Last-Minute Rescue
Lisa Chiarelli of, California, and her friend Karla were on a mission to save Stormi’s life. When they saw this heavily pregnant dog scheduled for euthanasia, they rushed to the shelter – and luckily, they made it!
“The shelter gave this sweet girl till 2:00 today to be rescued. @lisachiarelli and I couldn’t get her out of our heads… We couldn’t let this be the end for her and her babies,” Karla shared on Instagram.
They arrived at the California shelter just forty-seven minutes before she was to be put down, and Stormi couldn’t have been more grateful!

Jumping into her rescuers’ car was one of the happiest moments of her life. Even though she was uncomfortable due to her pregnancy, Stormi somehow knew that from now on, everything would be fine.
She found her temporary home with Karla and her wonderful pack of foster dogs.
For the first few days, Stormi was placed in a quiet part of the house. Her other foster siblings would come and sniff her for a bit, but that was all.
Karla wanted to make sure that this soon-to-be mom felt truly comfortable in her new environment before interacting with everyone. But Stormi seemed friendly from the start and definitely didn’t mind having company!

Finally, the big day arrived – Stormi became the proud mom of eight adorable puppies!
It was more than Karla and Lisa had expected, but they were overjoyed to see Stormi in her new role. With motherhood, her true personality emerged!
Unlike some of Karla’s previous fosters, Stormi was a natural mother. She constantly cared for her babies and instinctively protected them. For a few weeks, she stayed in the puppy room, away from the other dogs, to completely relax and nurture her litter.
During those weeks, Stormi learned how to feed, nurse, and keep her pups warm and cozy. But most importantly, she discovered the profound love of being a mother!

When her babies were finally ready to explore the outside world, Stormi surprised everyone once again!
She started acting like a playful puppy herself, having endless fun with the other dogs. She enjoyed her time in foster care so much and began to trust again!

A New Beginning
The biggest turning point in Stormi’s life came several weeks after her rescue.
A loving family with two children reached out to her caregivers, wanting to meet this resilient mama. And then, it happened!

It was love at first sight, and Stormi found her forever home!
Along with her puppies, who also started their own journeys, Stormi began a brand-new chapter in her life.
She was finally able to show her true colors in a loving home, far from the shelter life.
Stormi is now the princess of her new family, a loyal companion, and a cherished friend. After all the hardship she had endured, she’s finally living the life she always dreamed of!
