Puppy mills are really bad places. They don’t treat dogs well. Sara, a Corgi, lived in one for a long time. She had many puppies there.
But the people at the mill said she was “a bad mom” and left her. A group called No Dog Left Behind Minnesota saved her.
When they found her, she was going to have puppies again. And she was a great mom to them.

Stephanie Easley, who helps at No Dog Left Behind Minnesota, talked to The Dodo. She said, “Sara is a great mom. She loves her puppies and lets her foster family help too.”

Later, the group found four more puppies without a mom. They tried to feed them, but the puppies were very young. They needed a mom. So, they thought maybe Sara could help.
Easley said, “We thought Sara might be a good mom for them too.” They gave the puppies to Sara, not sure if she’d care for them. But she did, right away.

Easley added, “Sara is doing everything for them.” Sara treats the new puppies like her own. Her puppies like them too.

Easley said, “All the puppies are like one big family.” One of the new puppies was very weak and didn’t make it. But the others are doing well. They think the puppies might be pit bulls, but they’re not sure yet.

Easley shared, “The puppies are growing and playing more each day!”
Thanks to Sara, the puppies have a loving family. Soon, they’ll find permanent homes.

Easley ended by saying, “We’re so grateful to the people who are helping care for all these puppies.”
