Moved by their plight, this Good Samaritan took immediate action, reaching out to the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter for help. The shelter’s swift response brought the puppies directly to veterinary care, bypassing the shelter due to their critical condition.

The veterinary examination revealed the puppies’ dire state: mange, eye infections, swollen feet, and open sores, symptoms of severe neglect. Estimated to be around five and a half months old and possibly a mix of Mastiff and Cane Corso breeds, the puppies embarked on a journey of healing, supported by the dedicated shelter staff. Named after characters from the Super Mario series—Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Princess Peach—the puppies received comprehensive care, including antibiotics, eye medication, and medicated baths.
