With no immediate medical assistance available, they made a compassionate choice. They brought Snafu to their chimp sanctuary, introducing him to a family of caring chimps.

From Despair to Recovery
Snafu’s condition was dire, with visible sores, patches of missing fur, and weakened muscles. Yet, with the sanctuary’s vet’s intervention and the chimps’ unwavering affection, Snafu began to show signs of recovery.
As he healed, the urge to scratch his sores became overwhelming, leading the vet to place a protective cone around him.
Observing his restricted mobility, the compassionate chimps took it upon themselves to assist Snafu, carrying him wherever needed. Over a year, their bond deepened, making Snafu an integral part of their family.
