Petey’s life was supposed to start wonderfully when he was adopted. However, his new owners soon discovered that he suffered from a severe illness. What they did to the little puppy next was nothing short of cruel.

A small puppy, wrapped in a wet blanket, was found abandoned near a park. Rescuers immediately took him to the Sacramento SPCA. The question arose: why did heartless people leave this little one to fend for himself? Let’s delve into the story.
At first glance, Petey looked like any other puppy. His appearance wasn’t the issue for his former owners. The problem was that Petey suffered from cerebellar hypoplasia, a condition where parts of the cerebellum don’t develop properly. This leads to disturbances and failures in body functions controlled by the cerebellum, including frequent falling, epileptic seizures, and trembling.

Despite Petey’s seemingly hopeless situation, his rescuers at the Sacramento SPCA didn’t give up on him. He received physiotherapy and, importantly, lots of love and affection. Thanks to this care, Petey soon started to recover. He can now eat on his own and play like a normal puppy.
Petey Finds His Forever Family Petey’s new family didn’t care that he came with health challenges. They were overjoyed to have found him and to give him the life he deserves. They couldn’t believe that his former owners had heartlessly abandoned him and failed to love him for who he was and is.
