I can’t deny that this notion has certainly crossed my mind more than a few times.
And a timeless classic doesn’t lose its charm: breaking a treat in half and pretending to magically create two. If your furry friend buys it, you can anticipate a priceless response along with a wagging tail that seems to say they approve of the prank.
In Texas, however, one owner of a Golden Retriever decided to elevate the usual trick. When company arrived, the dog burst with excitement, tail wagging like crazy, only to be met with a trick that left her utterly bewildered.
Completely Taken Aback
Jacob Aguilar had just come back from a laid-back vacation in Hawaii and decided to visit his uncle. The family’s Golden Retriever was the first to greet him at the door.
The pup was overjoyed to meet a new friend. She zoomed around Aguilar in delight, tail adorned with enthusiasm. Suddenly, an unexpected event transpired.
The front door shut, leaving the puppy outside. She stood there, momentarily stunned, attempting to grasp what had taken place.
Perplexed, she edged closer to the door, anticipating someone would let her back in. When no one came to her aid, she circled around the house, still optimistic that someone would spot her.
For a brief period, she remained in a state of bewilderment. Eventually, Jacob and his uncle opened the door and ushered her back in. The expression on her face indicated utter disbelief.
She simply couldn’t fathom they would prank her like that. Jacob and his uncle, however, were in fits of laughter as they watched the replay of the incident captured on their security camera.

Once the prank was concluded, Aguilar thought the footage was too amusing not to share. He posted the clip on his TikTok account for others to savor the dog’s priceless expression.
It didn’t take long for viewers to chime in. One commenter quipped: “Next time you visit, be warned she may not greet you with the same enthusiasm.”
They could be onto something. After a moment like that, it’s conceivable she may not extend as warm a welcome the next time Jacob drops by.
Another individual inquired: “But how long did it take for you both to realize she was still outside and made amends with her?”
Given how the events unfolded, it was evident this prank had been meticulously orchestrated to see how she would react.
One final note stated: “I sincerely hope you showered her with apologies and plenty of affection, treats, and a pup cup afterward.”
And they had a solid point. After the mix-up and disillusionment, she thoroughly deserved extra affection and a hefty supply of treats. Hopefully, her family compensated her in the best way straightforwardly.
