On an abandoned porch, a frail and vulnerable puppy lay still, evidently in severe distress. Upon noticing the puppy, a kind-hearted rescuer was alerted.
As she neared the little one, it was evident he had suffered significant injuries. One could only wonder, where had this pup come from in this desolate place?
A thorough search was conducted for his mother, in case she too was in dire straits, but she was nowhere in sight.
The pup was christened Bernard by the rescuer, who gently placed him in her car, constantly reassuring him that everything would be alright.
After what felt like an eternity, Bernard let out a faint whimper.

Immediate medical attention was sought at a vet clinic where a wound on Bernard’s back was tended to.
As he recuperated, arrangements for a nurturing foster home began. Upon getting the all-clear, a foster mother named Dina, willing to care for such a young pup, warmly embraced Bernard.
Given his tender age, he required bottle feeding, to which Dina gladly committed.

For added comfort, Bernard was introduced to a pacifier and a rainbow-colored teddy bear.
The bond between him and the bear was instantaneous. As Bernard grew stronger and healthier, Dina knew the time was approaching for him to venture into a permanent home.

Though it would be a bittersweet farewell, she recognized the importance of both Bernard starting his new chapter and making space for other fosters in need.
