Remy was found tethered to the shelter’s door, accompanied by a note that laid bare a tragic situation.
Her previous owner, overwhelmed by Remy’s medical needs and financial constraints, had made the gut-wrenching decision to leave her in the care of the shelter, with a plea for her peaceful passing.
Remy’s Plight: A Battle with Illness

Remy’s health was indeed precarious. She was diagnosed with a grade-six heart murmur, a testament to her silent struggle with a rare and serious condition.
Her coat, lackluster and patchy, spoke volumes of the malnutrition she had endured. Yet, in the face of these adversities, the Greenville Humane Society refused to give up on her.

Through this initiative, Remy received an echocardiogram, which revealed B1 degenerative valve disease. While serious, the condition spared her from the ordeal of surgery, requiring instead a regimen of lifelong medication.
